More Bike Sharing Stations Installed – Golf Warehouse Lofts, Harris Methodist Hospital, TCU
Fort Worth Bike Sharing is launching next week, and so the steady stream of station installations is continuing on. Over the last few days, three new stations have bee installed, with more coming this week.
Above is the station at the Golf Warehouse loft/retail development just east of South Main in the Near Southside. The Golf Warehouse (a development of our friend and long-time Near Southside historic building redeveloper Eddie Vanston) will feature upstairs loft apartments and ground-floor retail & office space. Fort Worth Bike Sharing’s office is located in the building, so naturally, a station was installed out front. (Among other ground-floor tenants of the Golf Warehouse will be Shipping & Receiving, a new beer garden/live music venue.)
A station has also been installed at Harris Methodist Hospital. This should prove popular with medical workers in this area of the Near Southside, giving them an easy and healthy way to get over to Magnolia or South Main for lunch without a car.
Finally, a station has been installed on the TCU campus, on Cantey just off University. We’ll undoubtedly see more stations around TCU in the future, but this should help to get the system’s foot in the door among the student population.
Fort Worth Bike Sharing launches on the 22nd, with a ceremony at Burnett Park and a mass group ride to deliver the bikes to their stations afterward.

Friday on the Green Returns Tonight with Calhoun, Air Review, and Ice Eater
Friday on the Green, everybody’s favorite free outdoor concert series, makes its 2013 return tonight with a concert featuring Calhoun, Air Review, and Ice Eater. As always, it’s happening at Magnolia Green Park, located on Lipscomb between Magnolia and Rosedale, and it’s free.
Food will available from Ryan’s Fine Grocer & Delicatessen, Salsa Limon, Chadra Mezza, Hot Damn! Tamales, Magnolia Cheese Company, Esperanza’s, and Stir Crazy Baked Goods, with Chadra serving up beer as usual. This month’s charity is Don’t Forget To Feed Me, which will be accepting donations of cash and pet food.
As always, remember: no outside food and drink, as sales of said items at the event help keep it admission-free.

One of the advantages of being the sole proprietor of your Internet publishing presence is having final say over what goes up on the site, so I’m going to abuse that power like I love to do and let you know about an indie rock concert I’m playing in.
Tomorrow – Saturday the 13th – The Grotto on University just north of West 7th is hosting three bands. The opening act is the kick-ass Lindby, the middle act is The Diabolical Machines (of which I’m a member), and the headliner is the awesome Missing Sibling. It’s going to be fun – the party starts at 10:00 PM, and it’s only $5 to get in. Come on out and hear some great local music.

Two Bike Sharing Stations Installed at Intermodal Transportation Center
You can add “bike sharing” to the list of transportation modes present at the Intermodal Transportation Center downtown – the city’s primary train/bus hub has just received two new bike sharing stations. Above is ITC North, located close to the main terminal and feature a huge wraparound design around the security station.
And further south is, well, ITC South, located down near the bus stations.

Sundance Square Bike Sharing Stations Installed
Continuing along the path toward its launch on the 22nd, Fort Worth Bike Sharing has been out installing more stations today, this time concentrating on Sundance Square. The district’s two stations went in today – one, seen above, is located at 4th & Houston at the edge of the full-block parking lot across from the Sanger Lofts.
The other station is located at 2nd & Commerce, amongst the City Center towers (and across from the old Fire Staiton No. 1, seen at the right of the photo).
At this rate, it’s looking like everything should be on track for the system’s launch on the 22nd, which will feature 28 stations and 300 bikes.

The Fort Worth Bike Sharing team has been busy over the weekend. There are now four more bike sharing stations installed at various spots around the central city.
Above, you can see the second station on Magnolia Avenue in the Near Southside, located at Magnolia & Lipscomb near Magnolia Green Park, the Live Oak Music Hall, Ryan’s Fine Grocer, Yucatan Taco Stand, and The Boiled Owl Pub. The station joins the existing station at Magnolia & Henderson and an upcoming third station at Magnolia & Hurley.
Meanwhile, at the north end of the Near Southside, a second station for the T&P railway station has been installed on Vickery just off South Main. This joins the T&P North station on Lancaster, meaning that no matter which direction you depart the T&P, you’ll have a bike sharing station waiting for you.
In downtown, two more stations have been installed – first, the Central Library station at 3rd & Lamar, adjacent to not only the Central Library but also the Carnegie Building (seen above), the City Place development, and the edge of Sundance Square.
Finally, the Convention Center West station has been installed on Houston Street, near the south end of the Convention Center and right next to the Fort Worth Water Gardens and the Omni Hotel.
Fort Worth Bike Sharing launches with 28 stations and 300 bikes on the 22nd of this month.
